Corbin School of Innovation - Grades 6th-12th grade Application Essay
Each student applying for entrance in grades 6-12 should compose an essay answering the following questions. The student should write this essay in proper paragraph format with attention to grammar and spelling.
*Note an essay is typically 3-5 paragraphs in length.
*Applications for 6th-12th grades without an essay uploaded will be considered incomplete.
New applicants (6th -12th graders) are asked to write a personal essay to demonstrate their interest in our school and personal goals. Please answer the following questions.
1. Tell us why you want to attend (KAPPA/ or FLEX/ or Montessori at the Corbin School of Innovation.
2. Tell us about your academic strengths and areas of concern for you where you need the most support.
3. Describe a personal goal you want to achieve for yourself while at SOI? (Examples: becoming a proficient public speaker, obtaining a part time job, individual music/art/ athletics working to be eligible to earn college dual credits.)
Additional required question for high school (9th-12th) applicants to also answer.
4. High School students at SOI are required to complete a capstone project before graduation. This is a passion project, something that a student wants to investigate, research, and implement, possibly leading to a career field. Examples include: establishing a business, making a film, directing a podcast, earning employment skill certification etc.
Please consider a Senior capstone you might work towards during your time at SOI and write a paragraph about what you might be interested in doing for a Senior capstone project.
